arrested.

The Spokesman said that during interrogation, the victim explained that the suspect had been accusing
her of sleeping with her husband for quite some time now, and all efforts to
disabuse her mind proved abortive.

“On that fateful day, while they were in the church, the suspect came as usual and started raining curses on her.

“But, as she tried to walk away from her, the victim tore her cloth in the process of pulling her back and it was that annoyance that made the suspect to go home to boil water, which she brought back to the church and poured it on the victim’s face.

“When asked whether or not she was dating the suspect’s husband, the victim said she can swear with anything that there is nothing between them” he said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Edward Ajogun had directed that the case be properly investigated with a view to charging it to court as soon as possible. Source: NAN

SINGLE MOTHER ARRESTED FOR POURING HOT WATER ON HUSBAND’S SIDE-CHICK

A37-year- single mother of two, Joy Sunday, has been arrested by men of Ogun state police command for pouring hot water on the face of another woman, Justina Ameh who accused her of sleeping with her
husband.

Joy Sunday allegedly poured the hot water on the victim, Justina Ameh right inside the church, Spring of Life Global Ministry, Giwa area, Agbado via Sango Ota, where the two of them fellowship.

According to statement from the Police Public Relations Officer of Ogun state command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi on Sunday, Joy was said to have been arrested following a report lodged at Agbado divisional

GOV OBASEKI EULOGIZES CAPT. HOSA

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has joined millions of Nigerians to mourn the passage of Captain Hosa Okunbo.

A statement signed and issued by the Governor on Sunday afternoon, hailed Captain Okunbo’s perseverance and business acumen.

“A man of unparalleled energy and accomplishments, Captain Okunbo saw opportunities in adversity and from an early age in life, carved a niche for himself to become one of Nigeria’s most outstanding
businessmen,” Obaseki said about Okunbo who died on Saturday night in London following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

“A trained pilot, he conquered the air at an early age and set for the waters and land, building enterprises that
distinguished him in the business world and embodied the hard work,
perseverance, dexterity and acumen that espoused his Edo heritage”

He condoled the family and friends of the late captain, and said many people from Edo State had benefited from his philanthropic gestures.

“As a mortal, Captain Okunbo was not a perfect person just as none of us can claim to be, but he will be remembered for his undying love for Edo people” the governor said.

“His desire for the development and progress of our dear state, the Niger Delta region and Nigeria as well as his invaluable contributions to building bridges of peace across the country will never be forgotten” Obaseki stated

The late Capt. Wells Hosa Okunbo passed on after a protracted illness at the age of 63.

Giving his own account of the episode, chikoha’s gatekeeper disclosed that he last saw his Boss and Miss Lauretta with fast food entering the building that night at about 8pm.

He also disclosed that at about 5am, on Tuesday morning, the sound of the horn of his Boss’ Mercedes Benz Jeep woke him up and he hurriedly open the gate with the mind that his Boss was driving out to catch up with an appointment.

An instant search on the victim led to the recovery of the sum of two million, nine hundred and forty-three thousand, two hundred and fifty Naira (N2,943,250.00) which she confessed to have stolen from the victim”

“The suspect at the point of arrest was making arrangements to change the ownership of the 4Matic car of the deceased to her personal car”

CAPT. HOSA OKUNBO PASSES ON

Captain Hosa wells Okunbo(Retd.) has reportedly passed away in london on following a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Captain Hosa was a Politician, Businessman and Philanthropist was ranked amongst wealthiest men from Edo State.

He moved to London in August 2020 for treatment when his ailment became critical and was told he had less than 9 months to live whereas, he died 12 months later.

The Edo State-born politician, died in the early hours of Sunday as a result of a protracted battle with cancer.

The philanthropist whose son in-law, Prince Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko is the soon-to-be crowned Olu of Warri, lost a long fought battle with cancer at the age of 63 on Sunday morning.

Capt. Hosa temporarily relocated to London late last year, in view of his failing health shortly after the 2020 governorship elections in Edo State.

His health, however, improved following treatments in London and German hospitals.

was planned to return to Nigeria for the coronation of the new Olu of Warri, Tsola Emiko, who is to be married to his daughter, Ivie, on August 21, 2021.

Capt. Hosa’s preparedness for the coronation saw his new Lagos home decorated and he acquired a new Rolls Royce for the new Olu of Warri.

His health, however, took a a new twist when it became worse, thus leading to the eventual passing on at the instance of some close family members and friends.

Born January 7, 1940 in Benin City, Oredo LGA of Edo State to the family of Rev. Robert Amos Okunbo.

He had his primary education at Government Primary School, Benin City, in the then Bendel State, now Edo State.

He attended Federal Government College,Warri and studied at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre, Zaria, Kaduna State, to become a professional commercial
pilot at 21.

Capt. Hosa also attended ACME School of Aeronautics, Fort Worth Texas in 1983, where he obtained an Airline
Transport Pilot License.

He was a flight captain with Intercontinental Airlines for about two years, and was employed by Okada Airlines for three years.

Upon retirement from piloting in 1983 at the age of 30, he ventured into private busines where he made great impact.

Okunbo was the founder and Chairman of CMES-OMS Petroleum Development Company (CPDC), the Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, Abuja and Wells San-Carlos Agro Farms Ltd.

He was the Chairman of Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, an offshore assets protection company.

He served as Chairman and Director on numerous boards of blue chip companies in Nigeria, spanning multiple business sectors such as the agro-allied, petroleum, telecommunications, power, real estate and banking industries.

He is survived by his wife Nosa OKUNBO and 11 children.

YOUNG OKADA RIDER, 4 ACCOMPLICES NABBED FOR RITUAL KILLING OF TRADER

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed Ali, has confirm the recovery of the decomposing corpse of a 50-year-old woman who was allegedly killed by suspected ritualists.

In a statement on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, the Commissioner of Police disclosed that the decomposing body of the woman was found in the bush on Tuesday, following the arrest of one suspect, Onoriode Simon Akpoavirhi, 25, the Okada rider who carried her at Umeh Community in Isoko South Local Government Area of the State, that fateful day.

“The suspect also confessed that one lucky Daniel of Ohoro town contracted them to bring the body parts for him after paying them one hundred thousand naira (N100,000).

“Sequel to the missing person report received by the Command on 2/8/21 at about 1456 hrs of one Mrs. Patience Komore aged 50yrs, who disappeared after leaving for Umeh market in Isoko south LGA to get fish.

I directed the Divisional police officer Oleh to unravel the mystery behind her disappearance” the CP stated.

“The DPO Mobilized police operatives, vigilante, and community leaders who
continuously worked together and gathered information regarding the
case.

“Acting on a tip of, on 3/8/2021 at about 1300 hours, One Onos Simon m age 25yrs an Okada man was arrested, the Okada rider was the same person who carried the woman on that faithful day.

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the killing of the missing woman Mrs. Patience Komore in connivance with one Akpoghene Shoemaker ‘m’ now at large.

“They raped her and robbed her of the sum of forty thousand before killing her using a machete.

“Not only did they kill her, they also removed her eyes
and private part for ritual purposes.

“Suspect also confessed that one lucky Daniel of Ohoro town contracted them to bring the body part for him after paying them one hundred thousand naira (#100,000).

“Members of the public are
hereby urged to assist the police with useful information that can lead to the arrest of the fleeing Akpoghene shoemaker and lucky Daniel” the Commissioner of Police concluded.

It was gathered that he deceased fondly called Pat, a native of Otughievwen, Ughelli South Government Area was declared missing by her family since Tuesday 27 July, after home to Umeh where she buys assorted food ingredients for sale along Sapele Road, Effurun, Uvwie.

FORMER PRESIDENT’S SON REMANDED FOR KILLING FOUR PERSONS

A Magistrate’s Court in Yola on Thursday remanded Aminu Yar’Adua, 36, the son of late former President Musa Yar’Adua, in prison for allegedly killing four people in an auto crash in Yola.

Yar’Adua, a student of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Yola, was
charged to court for allegedly causing death by dangerous driving on 23
June, 2021.

According to the police First Information Report (FIR) tendered in court by the prosecutor, Insp. Zakka Musa, the accused had, while driving along Yola bye pass on 23 June, 2021 crushed six people as a result of over speeding.

The court heard that four of the victims were killed and the other two were injured in the accident, with the victims all hailing from Sabon Pegi, Yola South Local Government Area.

“Those that died in the accident were identified as; Aisha Umar (30), Aisha
Mamadu (32), Suleiman Abubakar(2) and Jummai Abubakar (30), while, Rejoice Annu (28) and Hajara Aliyu(27) sustained injuries”, according to the FIR.

The prosecuting officer told the court that the relatives of late Aisha Umar, Suleiman Abubakar and Jummai Abubakar had demanded the sum of N15 million from the defendant as compensation.

But, when the FIR was read to the defendant as prayed by the Prosecutor, he denied committing the offence, describing the allegation as untrue.

At that point, the prosecutor pleaded with the court to adjourn the matter, to enable him duplicate the case file and forward to the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

The Magistrate, Jummai lbrahim granted the prosecution’s request and adjourned the matter to 19th August, 2021, for further mention, and ordered that the ex-president’s son bbe
remanded in prison custody until then.

SUSPECTED CULTISTS BEHEADS POLY STUDENT

Suspected cultists in lorin, the Kwara State capital, have reportedly killed and beheaded a student of the State Polytechnic, identified as Olawale.

The dceased was reportedly ambushed on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, by members of a rival cult group while on his way home.

Giving an account of the incident, mother of the deceased said, “Olawale left home past 8 on Monday morning. But when he didn’t return on time which was unusual of him, called his number several times but there was no response.

“We now decided to report at the A Division police station and also go to his school and search hospitals if perhaps he had an accident.

“However, it was while searching for him that we saw some persons gathered around a spot around Unity,
taking pictures.

“It turned out to be the severed head of my son

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State command, Ajayi Okasanmi, said efforts to arrest the
perpetrators was on.

“While responding to a distress call, a bodiless head was recovered at Challenge area of llorin on Tuesday “Investigation so far confirmed it was an attack by cultists.

“Deceased was also a suspected cultist, an alleged student of Kwara
Polytechnic.

15-YEAR-OLD DEAF AND DUMB RAPED BY 54-YEAR-OLD MAN

Ondo State Police Command  has arrested one 54-year-old man, identified as Kingsley,
raping a 15-year-old deaf and dumb girl.

Kingsley who live in the same neighborhood with the girl in the Oke-Aro area of Akure, the state ondo State Capital, was alleged to have lured the girl to an uncompleted building in the area and raped her.

The 54-year-old man was caught by residents of the area committing the act inside the uncompleted building and handed him over to the police from ‘B’ Division in Oke-Aro, while the victim was taken to a hospital for madical care.
