In compliance with the Edo State Governor’s directive on the Covid-19 protocols, the Edo Internal Revenue Service(EIRS), has locked out unvaccinated staff and clients from accessing the corporate headquarters along New Lagos Road, Benin City.
As early as 7am, Thursday September 23, 2021, the enforcement team in company of some policemen, mounted the main entrance to the premises.
They screened vaccination cards presented by some staff and clients with electronic devices, while those without the vaccination cards were denied access into the place.
The State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki had announced that unvaccinated people and those without proof of vaccination will not to allowed access into public places as from the second week of September.
He advised those planning social, religious, political or business events after the second week of September to ensure that both themselves and their guests were not only vaccinated but possessed vaccination cards as proof and that anyone without this proof will not be granted access to crowded places.
