….AS ANAMBRA DECIDES

In few hours, eligible voters of Anambra State are expected to go to the polls to choose their Governor, as the outgoing Governor, Willie Obiano will be bowing out after two-term in office.

Contenders for the exalted position of the Governor are; Prof. Charles SOLUDO, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Senator Andy Uba and a host of other seasoned Politicians.

Anambra State has 21 Local Government Areas with about 2.52 million registered voters spread across three senatorial districts namely; Anambra North, Anambra South and Anambra Central Senatorial Districts.

Anambra North senatorial district has 1,820 polling units to cater for 846,994 registered voters.

Anambra South senatorial district, counts 1,934 polling units to cater for 794,203 voters, while Anambra Central Senatorial District, boasts of 3,987 polling units to cater for 887,295 registered voters.

There are a total of 18 candidates vying for the exalted seat of the outgoing Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano.

While the contenders for the Governorship seat are all males, there are, however, seven females vying for Deputy Governorship position.

Below is the list of the contesting parties, their Governorship and Deputy Governorship Candidates as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

INEC has stated that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will be used for the conduct of the November 6, 2021 Governorship election.
