An Isiokolo Magistrate court in Delta State has remanded one 35-year-old Mercy Oba who allegedly inserted a stick in the genitals of her 12-year-old niece, in the Sapele Correctional Centre.
Mercy Oba, who is Aunt to the victim, was alleged to have on the 17th March 2022 at Ikumeje village, Okpara Inland, Ethiope West Local Government Area, committed the offence after accusing the victim of stealing her garri and fish.
The Defendant is slammed with a four-count charge of assault, infliction of bodily harm on the child and her visually impaired mother as well as destruction of their properties worth N200,000, punishable under relevant sections of the law.
