A Fashion Stylist, who distributed gallons of fuel as souvenirs at a party in Lagos State, has been arraigned before the Special Offences (Mobile) Court of Lagos State in the Ikeja Magisterial District at Oshodi.
The Defendant, Ogulu Chidinma Pearl, was alleged to held on March 4, 2022, at an event centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, shared gallons of fuel to guests present during her installation as Erelu Okin Orile Kemta Foundation Party.
She was arraigned on a four-count charge of conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, endangering human life by distributing combustible matter in a public gathering, intent to harm another and unlawfully carrying on the business of storage and containerising petroleum product without a permit.
She was, however, granted bail. A further hearing of the matter has been fixed for March 24, 2022.
The Defendant was arrested following a viral video showed how party guests being given gallons of fuel with the inscription “Erelu Okin Installation Foundation Party,” pasted as sticker on the gallons
The Lagos State Government through the State Safety Commission and the Rapid Response Squad, consequently sealed up the Havillah Event Centre, Oniru, where the event was held, for allegedly contravening public safety rules.
