
The owner of Hilton hotel, Rahmon Adedoyin, and six others have been remanded in the Ileda Correctional Centre over the death of a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Timothy Adegoke.
The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo made the order when the Defendants were arraigned before the court on 11 counts bothering on conspiracy, murder felony among others.
The Defendants; Adegoke, Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, and Adebayo Kunle, however, pleaded not guilty to all the counts.
The Prosecution urged the court to remand the Defendants in Ilesa Correctional Centre while, the Defence Counsel, Rasheed Adegoke, SAN told the Court that applications for bail had been filled for six of the Defendants on health grounds.
Hon. Justice Adepele-Ojo ordered that the Defendants be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre and that ruling on their bail applications will be to delivered when the bail application of the seventh Defendant, Adedeji Adesola is brought before the Court.
The deceased Adegoke, a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), was said to have traveled from Abuja to write an exam at a distance learning centre in Moro, Osun state on November 5, 2021, and lodged in the Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife.
He was declared missing two days later only to be found dead, leading to the arrests of the owner and Staff of the hotel where he lodged.
