
One 25 years old, Olakunle Obaoye, has allegedly committed suicide in other to free himself from the debts he owed to his neighbours.
Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Kwara State Command, Babawale Afolabi, who confirmed the incident via a statement in Ilorin on Tuesday, disclosed that a brother to the deaceased, Thomas Obaoye, alerted men of the Ayedun Division of the NSCDC of the incident.
The PRO revealed that some relatives of the deceased took the NSCDC operatives to a bush in Erinmope village, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State where they found the corpse dangling on a tree.
“On Monday 17/01/2022 at about 1200 hours one Thomas Obaoye of Ayedun town went to our divisional office in the area to notify our men on ground about the demise of his brother, Olakunle Obaoye, 25, whose lifeless body was found hanging on the three in what look like a suicide.“
Afolabi added that the corpse was handed over to the family for proper burial, while the case to the Kwara State Police Command for further investigation.
