For defiling three girls, one 70-year-old man, Alto Ado, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Jigawa State High Court sitting in Kazaure.
Delivering judgment, the Presiding Judge, Justice Hussaina Adamu held that the evidence presented by the Prosecution Counsel, who called five witnesses, proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt as required by law.
The Judge, Justice noted that the offence of rape was punishable under Section 3 of the Penal Code (Miscellaneous Amendment) Law, 2014.
According to the Prosecution, the accused was arrested on 14th October 2020 for allegedly luring the minors between ages 7 and 9 into an uncompleted building in Kazaure town and forcefully defiled them and was later arrested and charged before the Court.
