Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, has confirm the arrest of two Herdsmen by men of the Ebrumede Police Division after stray cow killed a 2-month-old baby at Ebrumede Community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday.
It would be recalled that the incident occured at about 11 am on Monday as the herdsmen were escorting the cows to a buyer on DSC
Expressway by Ebrumede Magistrate Court near the DSC Roundabout, when one of the cows strayed.
The stray cow reportedly attacked the victim at the back of his mother who was standing by the side of the road and used its horn to hit the baby on the head, thereby bursting the skull while the mother of the child sustained serious injuries.
Apparently sensing dangers, the herdsmen took to their heels for fear of being attacked and possibly killed by angry residents of the area, until they were later arrested.
