Two ladies, who were allegedly enged in a public fight, have been remanded in the custody of the Correctional Centre by an Ebute Meta Magistrate Court in Lagos State.
The ladies, Kofowodola Savage, 32 nd Lola Onifade, 38, were arrested by the police for allegedly engaging in a public fight over a man.
The incident which happened at Onitoro Street, Surulere, Lagos, where they reside, drew the attention of
neighbours, who initially, didn’t know the cause of the fight was not known until the Police from Surulere Division intervened in the matter and charged them to court for Affray.
Sources revealed that Lola, reportedly slapped
Kofoworola over suspicion that she was trying to snatch her lover and inflicted injury on her which resulted to the public fight.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge brought against them and the prosecutor applied to the Court for a date to enable the Police to prove that they actually
committed the alleged offence.
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. T. O. Abayomi, however, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were consequently remanded in Correctional Centre pending when
they will be able to perfect their bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 9th August, 2021, for mention.
