POLICE REDEPLOYS 24 AIGs, DECORATES 36 CPs

The Inspector-General of Police (1GP) Usman Baba has ordered the posting and deployment of 24 Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AlGs) to Zonal Commands and formations.

The development came just as the IGP decorated the newly promoted 36 Commissioners of Police with their new ranks.

A statement endorsed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, on Tuesday, said it was in line with the new Manpower
Development Policy of the Force, the Inspector General of Police.

“The IGP has assured the nation that the posting and redeployment of the Senior Police Officers will further help in driving the new policing vision, which amongst other things, is
targeted at improving policing well.


The decoration of the new Commissioners of Police was the second phase in the decoration exercise of the 167 Senior Police Officers recently approved by the Police Service Commission having been recommended by the IGP.

Speaking at tthe Force Headquarters, Abuja, the
IGP noted that the manpower development Policy of the Force was a deliberate protocol to identify, elevate, and position professionally competent officers who would act as the Strategic Police Managers that would drive the new policing vision and give effect to strategies at responding to current and emerging security threats in the country.

The IGP congratulated the
newly promoted officers and charged them to deploy their wealth of experience to support his leadership mission of positively changing the policing and internal security narratives in the country.
