FAKE NAVAL OFFICER APPREHEND

Nassarawa State Police Command has apprehended a 32 year old suspect for allegedly impersonating as a Naval Officer.

Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the arrest, gave the name of the Suspect as Nasiru Ahmed.

A statement issued by the
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), on behalf of Bola Longe, the Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, disclosed that the Policemen attached to the New Karu Division, while on intensive surveillance patrol, arrested the 32 years old impostor, notorious criminal, and serial fraudster.

“Nasiru Ahmed usually dresses in military camouflage of the Nigeria
Navy, approaches Point Of Sale(P.O.S) operators at different locations within Karu LGA, under the guise of conducting transactions and sending fake bank alerts into their mobile phones in lieu of cash.

“The suspect, in most cases, intimidates, harasses, and assaults P.O.S Operators whenever they complain about the money given to him not reflecting in their bank accounts, the statement added.

The statement added that upon a search on Nasiru Ahmed, two sets of Navy uniforms, two sets of boots, one set of knee guards, and one dagger were recovered from the Suspect which, he admitted, using for his nefarious activities.

The PPRO said the State Commissioner of Police, Longe directed that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, for further investigation.
