A 17 year old boy who allegedly had the guts to overpower and rape one 75 years old woman has been remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Centre on the orders of a Benin High Court.
The suspect had on 4h March, 2020, at Onogholo
Quarters, Ubiaja, Edo State, unlawfully have
carnal knowledge of the woman an offence punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code.
It was also alleged that the suspect, who on the same date, time and place was armed with a cutlass, violently attacked the victim and and robbed her of the sum of N10, 000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira) cash, an offence punishable under section 1 (1)(2) (a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap. R11 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
While making his remand order, the presiding Judge directed that his case file be duplicated and forwarded to the office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, for legal advice.
