Two brothers; Osaherhunmwen(34) and Stephen Enehikhare(22) as well as their 31 years old friend, James Okhuarobo, have been remanded in Police custody on the orders of a Benin High Court, Criminal Division, sitting in Benin City for alleged armed robbery related charges.
They were alleged to have on 15th June 2020 at Ugbogun village, along Benin/Auchi road robbed some travellers of their properties and various cash sums.
The Defendants and others now at large allegedly robbed one Felicia of the sum of ten thousand naira and clothes worth five hundred naira.
It was the contention of the Prosecution on the charge sheet that the Defendants also robbed another victim identified as Michael of his personal effects and a cash sum of one hundred and twenty three thousand naira.
Further more, they also allegedly robbed one Felix of the sum of two point five million naira and another Faith of assorted drinks and clothes worth two hundred and fifty thousand naira.
According to the Prosecution, the Defendants who were armed with locally made guns shot sporadically into the air while the robbery operation lasted, an offence punishable under relevant sections of the Armed Robbery and Firearms (special provision) Act, 2004.
